News Media Finland

News Media Finland is a trade association for publishers of newspapers, free newspapers and other private news media. It is a member of the Finnish Media Federation (Finnmedia), which safeguards the common interests of the media industry.

We strengthen the societal role and vitality of news media by influencing Finnish and EU legislation and promoting fair competition. Together with Finnmedia, we protect the interests of our members. We represent news media in areas such as freedom of expression, journalistic self-regulation, distribution, media advertising and media education, and also advocate for the industry internationally.

We provide our member companies with information and insights into the future of news media, communicate the strengths and significance of news media, and support reader revenue and marketing. We promote information literacy, media literacy and trustworthy media content.

We also serve our members by organising events and training, providing advice, and offering a forum for industry dialogue. In addition, we publish Suomen Lehdistö, an online publication covering innovations and trends in the media sector.
